In firmware version 4.8 update, we reconstructed the VPN to support running multiple instances at the same time. You can now build multiple tunnels, allowing you to connect to multiple VPN clients simultaneously and customize VPN setups. You can define your own rules to meet the needs of remote working, bypassing geo-restrictions and other scenarios.
Initializing multiple VPN tunnels is only possible in Policy Mode. If you would like to encrypt all traffic through one VPN tunnel, switch to Global Mode.
1.1.1. Global Mode
Secnario 1: General Use
Connect all devices via VPN (ideal for anonymous browsing, secure access, or geo-restriction bypass).
Setup
Source: All clients
Destination: All targets
Tunnel: Select a common and stable VPN tunnel
1.1.2. Policy Mode
Scenario 2: Secure Remote Work
Connect your office laptop to company VPN for secure remote work from anywhere.
Setup
Source: Select a specific device (e.g., laptop, mobile phone).
Destination: Select all target or enter a specific domain/IP address.
Streaming VPN tunnel: TV box automatically identifies content from Netflix, Disney+, etc., redirects traffic through a VPN to bypass geo-restrictions.
Remote work VPN tunnel: Office laptop traffic passes through company VPN.
All other devices' traffic bypass VPN to maintain maximum speed.

Destination: Add domain names, such as *.netflix.com and *.disneyplus.com.
Tunnel: Specify VPN nodes in the US or other desired regions.
Tunnel 2

1.2. OpenVPN Just Got Faster
We added
OpenVPN's DCO
and upgraded OpenVPN to version 2.6. After adding DCO, we saw significant improvement in OpenVPN's
performance, clocking speeds comparable to, or even surpassing Wireguard.
*Note: DCO requires server-side support, please check with your VPN service provider if they support DCO.
1.3. Setup VPN In Seconds
A VPN setup wizard pops up to guide first-time users, setting up a VPN has never been easier! The setup wizard
will only appear once, when the router boots for its first time.
2. Cellular Function
2.1. Insert SIM, Dial Instantly
Simply insert a SIM card. No complex setup required, the router connects instantly, as easily as powering on a
smartphone. Skip the hassle of navigating clunky menus, and save time for what matters.
What's more, v4.8 also supports IP dialing, you can now make calls over Wi-Fi or a local SIM data plan.
2.2. Smart Cellular Connection & Signal Boosting
v4.8 gives you more control over your cellular network. With Lock Operator you can lock-on to specific carrier
network according to your needs. Whether you're after top speed or rock-solid stability, it’s all at your
fingertips, ensuring the best network service anytime, anywhere.
The Lock Tower feature enables the router to zero in on the strongest-signal base station, just like a radar. No
matter where you are, you can always maintain the best signal strength and avoid frequent disconnections.
High-bandwidth tasks such as video conferences, online games, and HD live streaming can all run smoothly,
freeing you from the troubles of lag and latency.
2.3. Track & Manage Internet Traffic
To let you better understand and manage your traffic consumption, we've redesigned the cellular interface. v4.8
added more status displays and parameter configurations.
For example, under Data Used, you can track your data usage and set data limit to avoid exceeding data plans and
incur extra fees.
3. Toggle Switch
3.1. Toggle Repeater, Wi-Fi, VPN tunnels, or LED Display
You can now toggle more core functions, including repeater, Wi-Fi and LED display. To toggle VPN, you should set
which tunnel the toggle switch activates (if you have setup multiple tunnels).
Forget switching back and forth in settings menus, just a simple flick makes operation effortless.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1. No More Screenshots, Just Hit Export
You no longer have to manually scroll through log piles or copy commands, just click Export Log and a detailed
log information will be swiftly sent to our technical support team.
